The Alumbrados or the Illuminated - The earliest recorded form of The Illuminati. The founder of the Jesuits, Ignatius Loyola was brought before ecclesiastical commission in 1527 for charge of sympathy with the Alumbrados, but escaped with admonition. This is worth remembering, when you realise that Adam Weishopt, founder of the Bavarian Illuminati, was a Jesuit.
